If you have been struggling to lose weight, you may find that you need a helping hand. There is no shame in this and many of us struggle to lose weight. If you need a push in the right direction or some advice to get you over the difficulties of weight loss, these tips will go a long way to helping you get fitter and healthier.
It may sound counterintuitive but you should never cut out all of the food that you enjoy. When you go completely clear of the food or drink that you enjoy, you may find that the temptation to go back to your favourite food will become too big and this may result in you binging. Saving up calories or taking a little bit of what you like in moderation can help you to keep on the right path.
You should keep a food diary and write down everything that you eat. You may feel as though you are eating healthily but if you are grazing on snacks or perhaps having more than you think at dinner, you may not lose weight at the rate you want to. It is important to be honest and this is where keeping a proper journal of your eating habits can bring home the reality of your daily diet.
If you have a motivation or incentive to lose weight, use it. If you are going on holiday and want to look great on the beach or you have a slinky dress to fit into, place a picture of this goal on your fridge. This way, when you are tempted to grab a snack, you will remember why you are trying to lose weight and you will hopefully back away from an unnecessary treat.
You need to exercise too
You also have to make sure that you are undertaking regular exercise. Cutting out calories from your diet is one way to improve your calorie balance but consuming calories through hard work and effort is another great way to make sure that you are working towards the right goal.
You will want to make sure that you reduce your alcohol intake. You may not think that there are too many calories in a glass of wine but if you have a few glasses, your calorie count will be on the rise. It is important to have fun and socialise with friends but be clear that alcohol is not conducive to losing weight.
You also need to be able to get back into a good routine if you have a bad day or two. We all have days where we fall off the path we are meant to be walking along but you can’t let it defeat you. If you have a high calorie day or you miss out on the gym session, put it behind you and start working hard again.
These are all simple tips but hopefully they can make a difference to the results that you achieve in trying to lose weight.
